Frequently asked questions.
The questions we get most often, answered plainly. For more, see the Help Center or contact support.
Is Boxes free?
+
Yes — Solo is free forever for one user with one personal agent. Teams are $24/user/month with a 14-day free trial. Enterprise is custom-priced.
Can I self-host Boxes?
+
Yes. Boxes is Helm-charted for Kubernetes deployment to your own cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-prem). Same software as our hosted offering, available on Enterprise plan.
Do you train AI models on my data?
+
No. Boxes does not train models on customer content. Ever. This is a firm policy, contractually committed in our DPA and ToS.
Can I import from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?
+
Yes — one-click import from Workspace and 365. Most teams cut over in an afternoon. We preserve mail history, files, calendar events, and contacts.
Is Boxes SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audited?
+
Yes. SOC 2 Type II audited (annual). ISO 27001 certified. HIPAA-eligible with BAA on Enterprise. Reports available under NDA — request via security@boxes.sh.
Where does my data live?
+
By default, US-East. EU-only residency available on Team and Enterprise plans (Frankfurt + Paris). Sovereign and on-prem available on Enterprise.
What happens if I cancel?
+
You can export all your data at any time (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Files, Calendar — all native formats). Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted unless you request earlier deletion.
Does Boxes work with my existing tools?
+
Yes. IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV, and CardDAV out of the box. Two-way sync with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. SSO via SAML/OIDC. SCIM provisioning. Webhooks for everything.
How do agents work?
+
Every agent in Boxes has its own cryptographic identity, capability scopes, and audit trail. Agents draft — you approve before they send. You can scope agents by surface, recipient, spend, and working hours. Full provenance on every action.
Is there a public roadmap?
+
Yes, at /roadmap. We ship weekly. Major releases monthly. RSS feed at /changelog.rss.
